Aregawi Berhe (PhD) is one of the founders of the Tigray People’s Liberation Front (TPLF). He and six other friends formed the TPLF in February 1975. He was the military commander of the movement. In the mid 80s he broke with the organization when the current Prime Minister Mr Meles Zenawi was dominating the party. Aregawi studied political science at the Addis Ababa University before joining the rebel movement. He is a regular speaker on current political issues in Ethiopia.
The father of two, he lives in the Dutch town of The Hague. Recently he held an extensive interview with the Ethiopian Satellite Television (ESAT) in a wide range of issues. Here is the interview conducted by ESAT‘s Washington DC bureau correspondent Sisay Agena.
does anybody have a clue if Aregawi is teaching. the guy knows well about all politics.i think he should share this on a more regular basis
What is his phd on. Was it politics, history or what. The interview doesn’t give much on his background.
Jemil why does his phd matter to you. Just listen to what he has to say and you can even disagree. Honestly I don’t see the relevance of his phd to the story he is explaining
personally i dont believe any of them. how can you prove wherthe they are speaking the truth. And that journalist was not there during the fight. he propably shouldn’t have done the interview. get someone who was there boy.
Why is this guy becoming so important these days? Anybody got an answer?
This is too long. So far I watched only 2 parts. Frankly don’t think I will have the patience to watch all of them. Besides, politics isn’t that sexy. Is it?
he wouldnt have made much of a difference. well all he is speaking makes sense but i doubt we would have done any different.
no matter what other people say , i find his idea very interesting.most of the things he is saying are true. and i have heard other people talk about that
Why is that the journalist keeps repeating the questions. He would have concluded all the conversation in 20 minutes.
Aragawi is wonderful as well as guebremedhin araya. these two people are historical. One day, he will accuse all TPLF members after the fall of this government. We will very soon see that day.
